米デイトン在住のジャズ・ピアニスト、平川恵悟がニュー・アルバム『Pixel』を6月16日（金）に発表します。ミシガン州アナーバーのスタジオ、Big Sky Recordingsで2022年8月に行なわれたレコーディングは、平川（p）のほか、ラファエル・スタティン（sax）、ブランドン・スコット・コールマン（g）、ロバート・ハースト（b）、アレックス・ホワイト（ds）のクインテット編成で行なわれました。プロデューサーを務めたコールマンが1曲提供しているほか、楽曲はすべて平川のオリジナルです。また、平川と共演したことのあるドラマーのジーン・ジャクソンがライナーノーツを寄せています。

　平川は11歳でアメリカに渡り、ニューイングランド音楽院でダニーロ・ペレスに師事。卒業後オハイオ州を中心にライヴ活動を続けています。ドナルド・バード、ジョー・ロヴァーノらとの共演歴があり、これまでに新作を含めて3枚のリーダー・アルバムを発表してきました。

Jazz pianist Keigo Hirakawa, currently residing in Dayton in America, will release his new album "Pixel" on June 16th (Friday). The recording took place in August 2022 at Big Sky Recordings in Ann Arbor, Michigan, featuring Hirakawa (piano) along with a quintet lineup consisting of Rafael Statin (sax), Brandon Scott Coleman (guitar), Robert Hurst (bass), and Alex White (drums). Coleman, who served as the producer, contributed one track, and all other compositions on the album are originals by Keigo Hirakawa. Additionally, drummer Gene Jackson, who has collaborated with Hirakawa in the past, provided the liner notes.

At the age of 11, Hirakawa moved to the United States and studied under Danilo Perez at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, he continued his live performances primarily in Ohio. He has a history of performing with Donald Byrd, Joe Lovano, and others, and has previously released three leader albums, including this latest release.)
